candy cane piroulines

well, looks like i got the lazy blogger disease.
where symptoms consist of procrastinating,
taking pics of things you create and then
forgetting about them, and wondering if
your readers will ever follow you again.

ugh.
it seems to be a recurring disease
i got this year.
oh my i cannot wait til the new year so
i can refigure my things out and get back
to my blog lovin' days of posting.

nevertheless i have a really quick christmas cookie for you
cuz i am doing it out of pure guilt for the lack of posts
and also cuz i know who the heck has time
to make more cookies when christmas
is less than a week away?

ok, here it goes anyway:
candy cane piroulines.
you know all those pretzel treats out there
where you dip the pretzel in melted chocolate?
i was looking for something like that to do without having to use pretzels cuz i am tired of using pretzels after making oh, i'd say at least 99,435,217,654 in my lifetime...

i saw these cookies and holy christmas it hit me like,
"why the heck don't people use these cookies for food crafting?"

and so it began:
there's hazel nut flavor piroulines but
i wanted to use the dark chocolate flavor
cuz peppermint hazelnut? yuck.
anyway, just follow the steps below, dry on parchment paper, snip the candy curved edges off the cookie sides,
and there ya go.
these are super yummy and if you still want
the salty sweet taste, you can always dip it
in dark chocolate and add sea salt to it.

in fact, you can decorate them like any pretzel treat out there so it suits your liking.
whatever way you make these, celebrate the holidays
in your own way with it, and it's a win win all around.

MERRY MERRY!!!

quick christmas treats

wanna make some quick christmas treats?
of course you do but you are busy.
but you wanna have a christmas party.

uh oh you have housework.
but you wanna have a christmas party next week.

oh boy you loove christmas treats.
but you have very little time to make them for your christmas party.

oh my! what to do?
no worries, i got you.

cuz this is exactly what my dilemma was and i managed to make a bunch of quick christmas treats in no time at all to delight the guests and kids of all ages.

all ya gotta do is head to walmart or your local grocery store, pick up some treats, and dress them up with candy melt and sprinkles.

the pics will show you how
but the directions are all the same.
just dip it, or use the candy melt as glue and add the sprinkles.

i'll let the pics speak for themselves:

so there ya go.
brownies. palmiers. oreos. and cookies.

a hohoho whoooole bunch of holiday sweetness that took a fraction to make and still tastes the same as if you were to make everything from complete scratch.

ok so maybe not exactly the same,
but it sure beats the time it would take to make them and that my friend, is a holiday treat!

from the archive: pilgrim cookie men

we're getting closer to the big feast day!
but heck i cannot bring myself to make any treats right now until at least the weekend...so with that in mind, i am reposting these cookies baaack from where i originally posted them here.

i crack up everytime i read this.
what a knucklehead i was am!

if you hadn't guessed by now, i like writing crazy posts.
so for this, i wanted to thank the pilgrims and indians who gave our country a holiday for all of us to sit back and be thankful for all our blessings in life.
in a ship with little elbow room,
on a trip that wasn't exactly leisurely.
it was a long, cold, tiring trip to America.
but they made it.
and after a long struggle,
the first Thanksgiving was born.

all because of
so in honor of our brave pilgrims,
i decided to make some.

if you google pilgrim hat cookie images, there are a million pics.
they are all so darn cute but i wanted the hats on the pilgrims.

so i grabbed these to make the hats.
it's just a matter of melted candy gluing the reese's cup to the oreo and then making the buckle outta starburst or even tootsie rolls.

but if you wanna make the faces, use this mold.
(i took these pics outta a halloween post i did last month and was too lazy to take another candy mold pic again)
anywho,
after his hat is on,and eyes are glued,
do this next:
not quite done yet...
he looked funny to me with no body.
no prob. let's do this!
not only could you have these for an after dinner treat, but you could also write your guests' names on the washi tape instead of "happy thanksgiving" and make them your placecards or use them as name cards for your dessert table.

look!
it's myles standish and his crew.
thanks guys for giving us my husband's favorite holiday and for us to take a breather from life and be thankful for all that we have.
blessings to all of you for a wonderful holiday :)

candy corn m & m sprinkled cookies

tomorrow is my halloween party!
i could mimic a monster's scream right now only it would be of delight and excitement.
or it could be one of horror and fear thinking about all the stuff i gotta do to get ready for it. lol

regardless, i made these cookies for the kiddies-
candy corn m & m sprinkled cookies.
this is another slacker halloween post using a mix found at target.
all this come in it.
you just have to add the egg and butter.
then follow the directions, which by the way, takes more than THREE hours to make because you have to chill the dumb dough.
but i skipped a step where it says to roll the logs into rolls and just formed them like a triangle as best i could so all i had to do was stack them and cut down the chill time.
i dunno what it is but it is quite rewarding to cut
tri-colored triangles it almost makes you forget about the looong chill time! lol
but wait.
i can never leave things alone
when it comes to food crafting.
so i took these:
he should be nervous cuz have you ever tasted these?
i'm not a fan of candy corn but holy cow these are really YUMMO!!!

i took them and crushed them all up in a blender.
and made candy corn sprinkles!

then baked according to directions.
but dang these cookies were waaay too big for a dessert bar so i cut them in half to get smaller sizes and they were just right.
don't forget the eyeballs!
cuz the candy corn can get real dizzy with all those
tri-colors next to them.
so if you have 3 hours to spare, make these and you'll have one delightful halloween treat. lol
