"make life sweet" gumball picture

man oh man guys.
it's been a heckuva past 2 weeks!

i'm talking about the challenges of motherhood and multi-tasking, and trying to get everything in order in our crazy busy busy lives that too many moments of
"what the heck am i doing?!?!"
comes across the mind.

sigh.

i mean, if you blog, you know what it means to try to come up with original ideas, keeping your readers entertained, and giving out inspiration as best you can.

while in the meantime burning the microwave dinner, but having a stack full of wonderful recipes under a pile of dust. forgetting to pay your bills on time, but remembering what next month's post is gonna be. yelling at the kids for really no reason cuz you're wickedly tired but typing a nice reply to a super wonderful comment you just received.

uuhhhh...that my dears, is my story in a nutshell these past few weeks.

some people ask me how i do it all and i tell them i don't! it just sometimes looks that way.

truth be told, i get about 6 hours sleep out of the 8-10 i should be getting.
many times my dishes are piled sky high before i go to bed but i don't care cuz i'd rather be staring at purdy party stuff or trying to figure out how you painted that mural on the ceiling. the laundry is completely wrinkled cuz when i take them outta the dryer they sit in the basket unfolded for days on end. (or at least til the underwear drawer is empty.)

i wanna make this . i wanna make that.
i wanna do this. i wanna do that.
i wanna buy this. i wanna buy that.

my clipix account is BUSTIN' at the seams with a bajillion million things to do. (it's just like pinterest by the way but more private). i have at least 200 emails a day and another 300 on my reader feed.

i go thru emails/posts/reader feeds sometimes like my pants are on fire cuz if i don't hurry up, there will be another 500 the next day.

i ask for more time, more time, to spend with the family or do other things but heck i just use that time on the computer again!

SIGH!

i give up. i can't do it all.
so i will keep trying to post things that i am really really excited about so that both of our time together will be worth it.

i think i owe that to myself and you.

sooooo,
i just kicked myself outta my soap box already and will now turn the table on to this next project.

check it out.
(get sticky stitches here)
you can also just use any colored yarn and glue for this project.
(i just printed out this saying on my computer on cardstock cuz i cannot for the life of me figure out how to make you a printable without having it be blurry when you print it out-ugh-so choose your fonts and design)
but if you like my design, you can download the "make life" font similar to this one here and use a plain font like arial for the word "sweet" since you'll be covering it up anyway. the size of the font will depend on the opening size of your mat and the font you choose.
there is no right or wrong.
ok the quote will be put aside for a sec in order to do the next steps.
i used regular size gumballs so the glass will still be able to lay flat in the shadow box frame when i put it all back together.
yes.
make. life. sweet.

i think that's all we can do.

so if that means reading blogs instead of laundry cuz your posts are MUCH more inspiring than a wrinkled shirt, then so be it.

if that means yelling at the kids cuz i'm so wickedly tired, then let that be a lesson to me that i gotta take a break from the darn computer and chill already.

and if that means getting comments that make EVERYTHING so much better cuz no matter what, you guys ALWAYS put a smiley on my face, then heck yeah i am all for it.

life's short so let's make it sweet while we can.
there'll be stale pieces of life just like what happens to a bubblegum gumball.

but you can always pop another one in your mouth, blow a huge bubble, chew til all the flavor is gone, and then go reach for another one.

or better yet, let's go for a whole handful.
sounds good to me.

  1. Well that is sweet - and so are you! - and very honest as well! I once saw a sign that said "Boring women live in immaculate houses." Yeah, they do. The rest of us are like you and instinctively know that life's too short not to enjoy it by creating and having fun. You just keep on being yourself because we love it!

  3. This post is great and oh so true! "The life of a blogger" also comes with other responsibilities, like real life! Then I beat myself up because I was too tired to run around outside with the kids or because I didn't post my newest recipe! But like you said... Shove a big wad of gum in your mouth and move on! Lol (or that's how I interpreted it!) Love the picture frame too! Super cute!
