swim goggle bottle buddies: GUEST POST on Design Dazzle

hooray!
Ooo i was SO stoked about being a camp counselor in Design Dazzle’s fun Summer Camp Series!
a few weeks ago i had this post up and today it is going to be a repeat offender here at home in case you missed it over there.

it's a fun kid summer craft that's easy peasy.
check it out:
your kids will have a blast making their own personalized bottles and they are super duper easy to make.

let's do this.
tell the kids the goggles are actually root beer goggles and the company screwed up on the label. :>O
you can get them and the stickers at target.
as well as the starbuck's drinks too but they can be found at most grocery stores. you can drink them up and then remove the labels and wash them out to get them ready.

then grab those sharpie markers, have the kids go to town!
we used the oil based markers and did not heat the bottles. just hand wash and you are good to go. plus i like the vibrancy of the oil markers (you can get them at michael's or hobby lobby).
we also cut the eyeball stickers in half so they can fit into the goggles.
then when the bottles are all decorated,
grab the straws and umbrellas.
and there you have it.

now it's time for a cartoon!

what are they lookin' at anyway?
oh! they're at the beach checking out the dolphins.

whoa!
you dolphins got the screen all wet.
no prob. we'll just dry it off and enjoy our drinks out of our kid decorated bottles.
so does this post make you thirsty or just wanna make silly bottles?

winter fun pom bottles

i wonder if the confusion that i have so often comes with age,
tired eyes from reading too many blogs on the internet, or just plain lack of sleep.

regardless,
there are many times my family thinks i'm "confused" cuz i see things differently.

ok then what about we add a bunch of other stuff to it to see what i mean.

not shown are 2 winter hat christmas ornaments that you'll see in a sec.
now i know they are hard to come by as i myself have no idea where i got them years ago but i have a feeling they are from hobby lobby. even a doll's hat would work too,
me thinks...

anywho,
first we'll take the tape, the black cardstock and one empty pom bottle.

then for the other 2 bottles,

now you could leave these bottles well enough alone and use them for fun winter drinks. as you can see you have a snowman and some kid bottles.

but as per usual, i kept going...

i found these awesome straws that look like sticks at marshall's but again any straw would do.

ok put those arms aside a sec.
we're gonna do more to the other bottles now.

and for the boy bottle, wrap some green tape to resemble stripes.
now i know you are completely confused now but it'll make sense when you see it below.

and NOW folks, they are done.

well, actually, kinda, sort of.
we gotta fill 'em up!

let's get some milk!

yeah, she changed hats.
that's a girl for ya.
not to confuse you or anything...
so there wasn't much choice for the boy.

?!?!
:>P

huh? what just happened?

st. patrick's day silly leprechaun bottles

we don't really celebrate st. patrick's day at my house.

one year we went to the parade downtown and spent the better part of it looking for a parking space and caught the end of the parade.

another year we went to a pub and i wasn't real crazy about the food.

and still another year we just looked at each other and said "happy st. patty's day" and that was that.

but this year, i plan on something a little festive, i mean besides wearing green so we won't get pinched even though i am the complete opposite of looking like i'm irish.

anyway, i made these for the kids:
yes they are silly.
wanna make some?
just drink a starbuck's frappucino,
 remove the labels,
 and clean the bottle.

head to michael's for the supplies,
and follow the steps on the pics below:

i only peeled part of the back of one of the mustache stickers so the ends stick out.
and the other little "heart" that you get when you cut your shamrock sticker gets pitched.
you can glue the hats on the lid if you like,
or just leave them off.
ok so that's about it!

have fun with them :)
