rice krispie mini carved pumpkin treats

ok so my halloween party is next weekend and as usual,
i wanna make sooo many treats but have
sooo little time to do them all.

it's not that i am having a big party,
it's just that there are too many things
popping in my head to make this and that that i gotta narrow it down some or i will have to put business cards in my guests treat bags for the best dentists in town. lol

anyway, with time not on my side, i was at walmart and found something that i could whip up fast to get these
rice krispie mini carved pumpkin treats:
sure i could make rice krispie treats on my own without the kit but buying a big box of cereal only to have it sit around since my family only eats rice krispies when they are in treat form and not in a cereal bowl makes this kit all worth it.
everything except 2 tbsp. of butter is included in the box as shown below, including a pumpkin mold.
problem with the mold though, is that it was way too big for my liking so i put it away for another time.

the kit says it makes a total of 6 pumpkins but i knew i could get at least a dozen or so treats with what i planned on doing. so again it was the total amount i could make without making too much is what sold me here.
the directions are right on the box with melting the butter first then adding the marshmallows and spices.
wait! what spices?!?
actually it's some sort of orange powder that screams
"HELLO I'M DEFINITELY ORANGE HERE!"

it was a bit strange to me when i thought it would be food coloring in a liquid or gel form, and not something that reminded me of chicken wing sauce...
so anyway, once it's all mixed, i plopped the strange spicy blob on a large piece of parchment paper and made a buncha little strange spicy blobs out of it.
and guess what?
you don't even need gloves to roll the blobs cuz the orange coloring does not bleed at all! and the blob was super easy to form with no cooking spray or butter on your hands or stickiness either!
so i actually LOVE this cayenne pepper hot pepper chicken wing sauce orange food powder!

anyway, gather the details for your little spicy blobs:
and some broken pretzel pieces.
i only had rods left in my cupboard so i just used those.
push your broken pretzel stems in the pumpkins while still warm and also the chocolate chips for the eyes and nose.
next, i buttered the end of a fork and "carved" out the little mouths by pushing into the pumpkins as shown:

you can leave them as is without their dentures or
push in the little teeth like so:
or if you don't choose no teeth, broken teeth, or toothless mouths,
just use the chocolate chips.
lastly add the leaves with the green icing or details with the black icing (i didn't use any black icing in the end).

but any way you make them, make them all different so their little spicy personalities show off.

so there you go,
mini pumpkins that are as sweet
(and not at all spicy) as can be!

skeleton pumpkin "i lost my head" halloween centerpieces

ok so i tried not to have a halloween party this year. i mean there is a TON of debris ALL OVER the roads from hurricane irma that have yet to be picked up by the city. but i do not forsee that coming soon.
so i guess i'm having a halloween party anyway, and just think the debris are little haunted forests
scattered all over the place. :>P

i'd probably lose my head if i didn't host one
cuz i've been doing it forever.

speaking of losing my head,
i made some party table centerpieces:
i have no idea what to call these so
i am just calling them as i see them,
skeleton pumpkin i lost my head centerpieces.

whatever.
here's how to make these super easy table centers.
it's as simple as just putting supplies together.
that one dollar tree arrow is pointing to what's inside the jar, which is a styrofoam cone.

actually everything was a dollar except the pumpkin jars,
they are posing as a dollar item in target's dollar aisle
but are really $3.00.

anyway, here we go:
cut about a third of the cone as shown to leave room for the stuffing.

then follow the steps below:

here ya go...
hold on to that would ya already?!?!
i 'm tired of looking for it!
so maybe i just need practice at catching
to hold on to my head?!

happy halloween twenty sixteen!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
2016
everyone!

hope you have some fun fun fun
today dressing up as a french fry, gumball machine, a shower rain cloud or whatever.
cuz what other day would it be acceptable to dress up like that?

and what other day is it acceptable to eat ghosts, eyeballs and fingers?

geeze halloween's so weird.
no wonder it's my bday.

anyway, here's a roundup of this year's halloween posts:
(just click on the links below)

well, there you have it.
another halloween to put in our records.

 and look!
i already see the turkeys heading our way...

wacky and whimsy pumpkin centerpieces

i have a question for you guys.
when you see a blog post and it has a bunch of writing in it, do you read the whole thing?

i am 100% guilty for NOT reading the whole thing.
one reason is due to time and another is that if it's a recipe or a food craft,
i totally skip to the pictures cuz i am very visual.

ok i really should not blame time for anything cuz if i do like the post,
i stare at the pics for what would probably be the same time to read what is actually written.

i am a total lazy eye read and full force pictureholic.

does that make sense?
anyway, look at me, i'm writing too much already so i am just gonna show you the insanity of what i made when i put a bunch of craft supplies together to make a bunch of
pumpkin centerpieces that are
both wacky, whimsical, and not to mention weird...

so that's one thing i didn't include in the supply list,
dollar tree orange and green vases.

i am using these for my  halloween party as centerpieces and i had to have something with weight and height to keep the light-as-air pumpkins from being carried out to nowhere with the wind.

so there you have it...

holy pumpkin cow could you imagine all the writing i would have to do if i made a tute for each pumpkin?
why it would be christmas by the time you nice
"read-the-whole-post readers" got done :>O

multi-monster pumpkin

so how the heck are you supposed to come up with an original pumpkin idea when it seems like ALL the ideas are already taken?

hmmm...
it seems like a lost cause eh?

but then look!
ooOOOooOoo weeee OoOooo
i decided to make a multi-monster pumpkin.

cuz making it isn't scary at all,
and comes together quite easily.

just head to michael's for the pumpkin
and party city for the eyes.
ok so they're not really eyes,
but awesome erasers!
and there not eyeballs,
but eye halves...errr..i think?

ok so first you have to cut your mouths out.
i just did it randomly,
with no pattern but left room for the eyes.
well, i really didn't use scissors,
but it was too hard to find a knife png image so the scissors had to do. lol

let's add some eyes to these mouths now
with some hot glue.
and there ya have it.
cuz can you imagine if your kid looked like this all the time?
why, you'd have to love it after looking at it 24/7...
or either spend the time with your shrink which is lots more expensive. HA

can you imagine having a bunch of kids like that?
and nieces and nephews to boot?
no wonder monsters look all stressed out.
well except for that one with the blue eyes.
but i wouldn't rule out the look of his eyes though...

guess you could always erase the eraser eyes and add some clear ones...
but what fun would that be?
