mini flowerpot push pins

i finally found a plant i can take care of
and not worry about it dying on me.

it requires no sun, no water, and no soil.
aaand i can hold it with 2 fingers.
ok ok
so i cheated a bit and went to hobby lobby.
i think these are supposed to be used for a dollhouse.

aren't they cute?
let's fix 'em up to be even cuter.

grab some push pins.
and your glue gun.
and there ya go.
easy peasy lemon squeezy.
all ready for happy spring notes or
even a cute little mom's day gift.
aaand they're guaranteed to give anyone a green thumb.

diy flower sticker garland

well guys,
i am officially a walking, talking allergen.
i figure i've had so much pollen in my nose and throat lately i might as well
name myself that.

i do wonder how food tastes like though,
as i have lost my sense of taste as well.

goodness am i outta the woods yet?
or should i call taylor swift for advice?
lol

being i am outta sorts,
i have an easy peasy craft today,
and nothing to do with food.
just more outside nature allergy
inducing kinda stuff.

like flowers and trees.

oh and stickers and ribbon.

check out this ridiculously-uncalled-for
need-for-tutorial because i-have-been-behind-
on-blog-posts-kinda-tute.
i got these at michael's awhile ago
in the kiddie dept.
so go there and not only the sticker section to find stickers
cuz these are 3-D and oh so cool.

then just grab some ribbon and stick 'em on.
and that's it.

so keep it hanging.
for spring festivities or mother's day decor.
or lay it flat.
or wrapped around a tree.
cuz goodness it's awful hard to photograph
a full long garland.
and besides, it's very pretty out &
i wanted to be outside with nature.
which may explain all the title pics
in this post.
seems my brain's clogged up as well.

achoo!
goodness i need to shut up already :>P

flower m&m rolo chocolate chip cookie cups

i took last week off from blogging
just to enjoy the blooming flowers and trees.
...
actually i enjoyed them a little too much
cuz the darn pollen crawled up my nose
and boy oh boy i turned into a
sneezing fiasco fit.
achoo! achoo! achoo! achoo! achoo!
over and over and over and over and over.

it was quite annoying actually,
as it drained a lot of energy outta me
and prevented my brain cells from
thinking up crafty things.

but now i am back,
and it's not cuz i stopped achoo-ing,
it's only cuz i have grown accustomed
to breathing out of my mouth or outta one nostril.

so what did i do about it?
i made these flowers cuz i for one
do not have a green thumb whatsoever.
and if you can't beat the darn flower pollen,
ya might as well join 'em.
and not like the constant weeding or
watering or miracle growing thing
that goes along with growing flowers,
these babies can be yours in 20 minutes
or less if you got really fast hands.

all you need are these:

bake cookies as directed in a mini muffin pan.
then as soon as you take them outta the oven,
now get those fast hands a movin'

\
corolla center?!
now how's that for flower knowledge?
and you thought i had no flower know how whatsoever!

(actually you are absolutely right...
i googled what do you call a flower center lol)

anyway,
that way the petals can keep their position
and not wiggle around when you remove the cookie.

don't they look cool,
like they are growing outta the ground?
what about now?
the cookies look like little pots.
so there you have it.
i promised you a rose flower garden.
make these for a spring fling, mom's day or fancy schmancy tea brunch with your gal pals.

cool beans huh?
i mean cool flowers.

as for beans,
i have no idea how to grow those either.

bird nest paperweight note holder

the alarm clock goes off.

the sun is shining in a way that the rays are pointing just above your face so as not to blind you.

you smell the coffee brewing downstairs.

you have your favorite outfit ready to be put on.

you hear the birdies chirping outside.
like so:
oh it's gonna be a glorious day!

(MOM WHERE ARE MY JEANS?)
ignore that.
just listen to the calm water as the shower envelops you.

(HEY MOM DO WE HAVE ANY MORE OF THOSE WAFFLES I LIKE?!)
ignore that.
those birdies are singing your favorite song.

(HONEY DO YOU KNOW WHERE I PUT THAT ELECTRIC BILL?!)
ignore that.
just think it's friday and you've got a fantastic weekend ahead.

(DON'T FORGET TO FOLD US PILES OF LAUNDRY!)
ignore that.
oh your scrambled eggs taste so fluffy this morning and your bacon is just so crisp!

(AWW MAN WE'RE OUTTA MILK AGAIN!)
ignore that.
maybe i can take time to have an extra long lunch today.

(HELLO WE ARE CALLING TO REMIND YOU OF YOUR 11:30am DR. APPT)
ignore that.
wanna have a glorious day too?

make a note holder to jot all those "ignore" notes down.
it just takes glue, some birds, and a painted rock with some straw glued on it.

or if you don't wanna make one,
it's ok.
you can always ignore me.
;)

spring tree cake pops

oh my poor peeps who are freezing to death!
especially in march when SPRING is supposed to be here in only one more week from now!

here,
i made you something to hopefully cheer up those winter blues you may be having.
you like?
they're actually just regular ole cake pops but it's the straw that's the star here.

let's see how they grew from a tiny seed idea to an actual tree.
hopefully you made cake pops before,
as this is the hurry-up-short-cut version of cake pop making.
there are a billion and one videos out there on cake pop making though, just google it.

those mini cupcakes are from walmart. you can use the entire cupcake, frosting and all, if you want moister cake pops or if you don't, just scrape off a part of it before smashing it.

just remember the moister the pop, the more chill time you'll need to firm them up before dipping.
i scraped off about a teaspoon or so off the top before i made mine and froze them for about 10 minutes to firm up.

so while they are chillin', get this:
set those flowers aside and grab the stars of the show:
as you can see, i got my straws at tj maxx for
only $4.99 for 50 of them.
too bad tj maxx is a place where you gotta get the goods or they'll disappear on you the next time you visit.
i was however, able to locate these straws for you
here, here, and here,
sorry they're not as cheap as mine though!

ok let's move on.
i cut them a little shorter than the stick itself so the tree could fit in the cake pop stand.
ok set the winter trees aside for a sec to allow the trees to bloom.
not sure how?
the next step will show you.
once the cake pops are dry, use some more candy melt to attach the straw to the tree.
the spring tree has now blossomed.

but wait!
what have we here?
you have now just created a spring tree forest :)
uh oh!
what's that i see on the weather forecast?

the temp is dropping?!?!?!
is that snow?!?!

no no no, only warm sunny skies for you!
ok that's more like it.

it's march after all and i see some bunnies ahead...
