easter basket with mini bunny and chicks cake pops

i'm making up for st. patty's day
when i was sad about not getting to
make any rainbow treats.
so i needed a super cute treat to make me feel better.

how's 'bout some easter basket with
mini bunny and chicks cake pops sound?
it all started when i was at michael's and saw this:
ohhh i die!
so i started to make cake pops like this,
shaping the cake pops into oval shapes
with large center ditches then dipping them like so in melted chocolate.
when you dip, scoop the chocolate like a spoon
and then turn them over to shake the excess chocolate off to get the ditch.

after the cake pops dry, melt some green candy melt and use a toothpick to add the grass as shown.
then quickly add the bunny, chick, and some nonpareils to resemble candy in the basket.

lastly, add some more green candy melt for the grass detail like so to get your mini easter basket!

i dunno...
it still needs something in my eye.
so if you're crazy like me and don't wanna leave them like this then do this:
woohoo!
look how cool.

but wait, i dunno.
it still needs something in my eye.

so if you're crazy like me and don't wanna leave them like this then do this:

then tie with a little ribbon.
to get mini easter baskets on a stick!

so there ya go,
you can do them up plain or crazy weaved in a bag.
either way, hide these cuz peter cottontail is gonna steal them for their cuteness if you don't!

fries before guys cake pops

this is a post for the ladies only cuz
it would probably irk some guys.
why?
it's cuz we are talking fries before guys.

in cake pop form.

fries before guys cake pops for all my gal pals out there.
all you need are some red candy melts
and just 2 more ingredients.
some mini red velvet cupcakes you can get at target and
some pocky sticks at world market.
don't they look like fries?
yes i do believe they do.

ok so let's get started.
first remove 3/4 of the frosting off the top of each mini cupcake with a knife and smoosh the rest of the cupcake all together one cupcake at a time, and then form the little french fry boxes.
the lollipop heart sticks are from target. you'll be sticking one of those in each cake pop with candy melt for glue and allowing them to harden in the fridge or freezer just enough for dipping.

so while those are chilling out,
make your fries by just breaking off
the tops of the pocky sticks.
no worries about getting a little bit of
the chocolate on the sticks.
so once you have them all broken, sort them in small piles of 5-7 sticks so you can grab them quickly and add them to the cake pop before the candy melt dries like so:
as you can see i dipped the pocky sticks' chocolate ends into the french fry box and turned the pocky sticks so the weird oval circle thingies on the sticks don't show.

so look now you got a bunch of fry boxes!
wonder how many calories they are?!...
all that's left is to add detail with
a food marker and you are done.
woohoo!
"fries before guys" is a much better phrase than
imagine what those cake pops would look like?
yikes!

where the wild things are cake pops in a boat

knock! knock!
hmmm? wonder who that is?
i wasn't expecting anybody?...

...who is it?
THIS IS THE BLOGGER POLICE!
WE'VE COME TO ISSUE YOU A TICKET SO OPEN THE DOOR NOW!

WHAT? why the heck am i getting a ticket?
IT IS FOR BLOGGER SLACKINESS-A FELONY FOR THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO BE LAZY AND NOT KEEP UP WITH THE POSTS REQUIRED PER BLOGGER...SOMETHING OR RATHER...

ummmm...JUST A MINUTE!

quick! lemme give you a post!
this one is about the cake pops i made for a teacher friend of mine whose little just turned one.

they were fun but took a lot of time outta my regular crafts. so before i open the door (?!) may i present to you
where the wild things are cake pops in max's boat.
when my friend approached me she asked if i made cakes and i said no no no i will never make a cake cuz i have dreams,
err nightmares, of cakes toppling over during transport and then i would topple over in severe angst so
cake pops is what she got.

so i compromised and made a boat instead, like so out of 5 foam blocks taped together and cut in the form of a boat, covered in red cardstock on which i drew sharpie details on and then covered with basket filler.
i actually covered the foam with cardstock first then added the filler- i just forgot to take pics of the steps and had to work backwards to do so! duh on me.

anyway, i also made a sail that's made outta more cardstock hot glued to a wooden dowel that i pushed into the boat.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
BANG! BANG! BANG!

ugh! i gotta speed this post up-i don't wanna ticket!
ok boat's ready!

now time to make some teeny tiny crowns out of gold cardstock.
and then cut some pink candy melts in small face shapes, using an icing tip.
ok let's get these cake pops going ok?

first up, MAX of course.
ok here's MAX with his crown, ready to meet the monsters.
monster number one--> BERNARD

monster number two---> MOISHE
(i had to google search these monster names btw!)

monster number three--->TZIPPY

monster number four---> EAGLE BIRD WITH NO OFFICIAL NAME (lol)

i bought some labels from etsy here.

and...there you have it.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
QUICK! EVERYONE IN THE BOAT!!!

ok scoot over already!
ok i'm in!
now let's get outta here before the
blogger police gives me a ticket!
and then let them figure out
where me and the wild things are...
