mini cookie and cake dome cookies

about how many cookies has your mom baked for you?
too many to count?
how about cakes?
how much cake have you had from her, homebaked or not?

with mother's day coming up,
wouldn't it be so sweet of you to do the same for her now?
how will you ever repay her for all the yummy memories she's given to you?

well, you know baking usually makes more than a dozen and cakes are hard to give when only 1-2 people eat them.

so here's a possible answer to the problem:
yup they're mini!
and they are on a covered dome cookie or cake plate.

this way you can give a bunch of cookies and a cake and she will still have room for something healthy like maybe a chocolate-covered strawberry.

here's the deal:
the airplanes took off and i was left with:
you guys have no idea how long i was thinking about these cookies.
i looked everywhere for clear easter eggs and KNEW i did not imagine them in my crazed mind.
anyway, easter passed and i just put it behind me til i saw these eggs and then the whole thing just came together.

it was even better when i found this recipe to make them, which came together in a jiffy with no chilling required and easy to roll out even though this cookie here requires no rolling.

originally i made the recipe for another kinda cookie i will post in the future so with the leftover dough i did this:
i add the food coloring in each bag then knead the bag til the color mixes in completely with the dough.

next step:
i LOVE this nordicware pan but not the price.
but i figured once summer comes i can make ice cream sandwiches and then i'll forget about the price.
anyway, i used it cuz i wanted a scallop plate for the mini desserts.
so while the "plates" bake, make mini desserts like chocolate chip food marker cookies, fake peanut blossom cookies with a chocolate chip top, and sprinkle sided cakes.
 bing!
plates are done.
quick grab those domes now.
thus the steam you see in the top pic.
when i removed the domes on some of the cookies, they immediately came out as you can see.

once the cookies are cool, grab your cakes.

then just add the mini cookies in a pile like so:
oh i candy glued a large sprinkle ball to each dome too.

so now they are all done.
want one?

it's an entire dessert table full of goodies that covers about 1 foot of space.
make these so your special mom or someone can have an entire cake or plate of cookies all to themselves with no guilt attached.
:)
