if you're a mom with a kid starting school soon,
do you get a list of school supplies your child needs to start out the new year?
we do here and they always have the craziest things on the list.
like 72 notebooks, plain with no design.
what? you mean i can't get that chevron design or velvet color-me-in-kitty one?
50,000 pencils. plain.
huh?
no glitter ones? no cool mechanical ones? none with cool sports team logos?
2 large boxes of tissues.
for 9 months of school? i don't think my kid uses even a quarter of the box in one year. and if he needed more, i would certainly not send him to school to infect everyone.
10 reams of copy paper.
whoa! I want 10 reams of copy paper myself!
ok ok so i exaggerated a little and know a lot of the "extra" supplies are for classroom use. and i do get what's on the list only to have the notebooks and papers returned at the end of the year unused.
happens every time.
but i just trudge on and fill my walmart and target carts each early august.
anywho, i could use that extra money to make extra cool goodies like i did here:
hey! who'da thunk a stacker marshmallow is the perfect fit for a s'more cookie? and that it would turn out to look like ice cream?
just freeze it for few minutes and it'll be all ready. it's also a "s'more" too!
but that's not what i had in mind when i went to make the treat, so you can call this a double treat post.

let's see what else we can do with that tiny ice cream sandwich...
adding the stick to a frozen marshmallow really makes the cookies stick well and sooo easy to dip,
unlike cake pops that fall off the stick when you dip it sometimes.
i put a little melted marshmallow candy melt at the end of the stick and then stuck it straight in the middle of the marshmallow but the stick will still stay without the candy melt on the end of it, as long as you freeze the s'mores for 5 or so minutes first.
so after you dip the s'mores and let dry, do this:
hey! it's a ream of school paper!
check that off the school supply list!
so hey how about we make something else, like this:
my daughter saw these and asked me if they were rectangle macarons.
ha!
no i told her. they are...
so there you have it.
all ready to start the new school year.
well, maybe...
i gotta start working on getting those 50,000 pencils.
