rainbow m&m cookies

simple is not exactly easy for me.
i tend to over think things, over analyze and overdo.

this becomes quite the problem with me when i watch movies with my 16-yr-old daughter.
i don't exactly like movies that make you think.
(minion movie all the way!)

recently we watched "the theory of everything" movie and i was trying so hard to think how that black hole theory worked with all the talk of time relativity and beginning of the universe and galaxies that halfway into the movie i was once again in the thought frame of
"ok so what's going on now? i'm so confused!"
then upon leaving the movie my daughter explains not only the movie in general, but also the black hole and beginning of the universe theory, and adds the theory of my-over-thinking-that-inevitably-ruins-intellectual-movies-such-as-this-one theory".

only this is not a theory but in fact,
a fact.
ugh. why can't i keep it simple sometimes?

anyway, this leads me to these cookies.
i couldn't believe it's so simple.
and yet so delicious.
the melt-in-your-mouth kind of delicious.
these cookies only need this:
you can see the full recipe here.
but here's a quick synopsis.

and... and.. and...
hey wait a sec?!
that's it?
but where are all the hundred and one other tutorial pics i usually make?

and what if you use large m&m's?
can you use frosting?
can you use sprinkles instead of m&m's?
can you make mini size ones?
can you make extra large ones?
can you bake it as bars?
can you substitute unbleached for all purpose flour or use cake flour or another kind of flour?
or do you even have to use flour and just make it a
2-ingredient recipe?!?!?!
can you...?
can you...?
can you...?!?!?!?!?!?!

oh goodness!
think i'll just go have a cookie and
watch a non-thinking movie.
