easter craft party 2018

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
hope you are all spending this joyous day
with loved ones :)

last week i had a wonderful celebration with some loved ones too,
namely 20 or so others at an easter brunch craft party.
we had a huge brunch full of
breakfast casseroles, fruit, yogurt, eggs and more carbs.

then after our big meal we got to making some crafts.
first up was an easter spring floral wreath,
one of the blog posts i meant to write about but after you see all the easter celebrating we did, i kinda was well...tired. lol
you'll see in a bit how we put all these craft materials together.

i also had a craft table for the kids too,
with egg dying, wood painting, and pom pom easter animal making.
the next craft us ladies did was a stenciled diy hand towel
which i made everyone their own towel.
craft #3 involved egg marbling.
they did an awesome job but really messy job with this one. lol
in between our craft making we had some sweets too.

it was an incredible amazing day of fun fun fun!
i mean, look at all the stuff we made!

so now that easter is finally here,
i plan on chilling out with the easter bunny,
eating jelly beans, and praising God above
for all the blessings He gave us including YOU!

HAVE A WONDERFUL EASTER EVERYONE!

easter basket with mini bunny and chicks cake pops

i'm making up for st. patty's day
when i was sad about not getting to
make any rainbow treats.
so i needed a super cute treat to make me feel better.

how's 'bout some easter basket with
mini bunny and chicks cake pops sound?
it all started when i was at michael's and saw this:
ohhh i die!
so i started to make cake pops like this,
shaping the cake pops into oval shapes
with large center ditches then dipping them like so in melted chocolate.
when you dip, scoop the chocolate like a spoon
and then turn them over to shake the excess chocolate off to get the ditch.

after the cake pops dry, melt some green candy melt and use a toothpick to add the grass as shown.
then quickly add the bunny, chick, and some nonpareils to resemble candy in the basket.

lastly, add some more green candy melt for the grass detail like so to get your mini easter basket!

i dunno...
it still needs something in my eye.
so if you're crazy like me and don't wanna leave them like this then do this:
woohoo!
look how cool.

but wait, i dunno.
it still needs something in my eye.

so if you're crazy like me and don't wanna leave them like this then do this:

then tie with a little ribbon.
to get mini easter baskets on a stick!

so there ya go,
you can do them up plain or crazy weaved in a bag.
either way, hide these cuz peter cottontail is gonna steal them for their cuteness if you don't!

lemon oreo chicks

happy spring everyone!
looks like i missed st. patty's day due to life happening but i am on the easter boat,
starting things off with these easy peasy lemon oreo chicks.
it's fairly easy as you will see from the pics below
using yellow candy melt, candy eyes, and orange sunflower seed candy.
after dipping, lay on parchment paper and quickly add the eyes and beak before it dries.
then you can use the back of a fork like you see below
to add the feather top.
this dipping is easy because you can leave the top part of the cookie exposed without getting
your fingers in the candy melt.

so i kept going and going and going.
to get 40 of these baby chicks.
which only took me 45 minutes to do the entire oreo package.
and 2 seconds to gobble one up!

diy easter egg baskets

well easter is gonna be here before we know it.
full of easter eggs, baskets, and candy.

so do you make a huge easter basket for your sweeties?
i do but i must admit,
my kids don't always eat all the candy in it.

i think it's cuz they are not real big candy eaters
and having a basket full of easter treats can be overwhelming.

hence these little baskets will suffice for not just my kids,
but for anyone.
they're easter eggs turned into mini hand held baskets.

so let's make some!
the clear top eggs i got from oriental
trading but they are sold out (sad face :(
however, you can always use these
oriental trading clear top easter eggs
which i think would actually work better because they have their own stands :)

so once you have your supplies ready,
just follow the pics below and you'll have
a mini basket in no time flat!

paint on the handle as shown.
then add details with a black paint pen
once the colored one dries.
ta da!
i like these cuties.

now time to fill them up.
then grab some springtime candy.
and there you have it.
a whole bunch of mini baskets that can be
emptied in under 15 minutes or less.

the only problem with these is
if whoever gets one will actually want to
empty it or just stare at the cuteness like i do...
