fish-filled shark cookies

awww, look at the cute leetle fishees.
floating around in the deep blue sea with the radiance of sunshine above.

so calm.

so peaceful.

not a worry in the world.

lucky fishees.
hey hey!

where ya goin' fishees?
did i say something wrong?
HOLY CRAPPERS!

is that?

could it be?!?!?!
run fishees run!!!!
i mean swim!
swim! SWIM! SWIM!!!!!
OH NO!
they're circling!!!!!
they're awfully wonky hungry looking!
and they're getting closer to the poor leetle fishees!
and closer...
and CLOSER!!!!

oh my heavens!
what happened to the calm blue sea?

where in the world did those sharks come from?
is it shark week or something?

heehee
that brownie pop pan came in handy again.

and yup i used store bought sugar cookie dough.
just follow the package directions.

i had these sharks on my mind and didn't wanna fiddle around looking for a "best sugar cookie" recipe cuz i was really interested in the decorating part and also cuz i am lazy.
but if you're not lazy, go for your best recipe!

you don't have to color the dough gray (by adding a tiny bit of black food coloring), but i did, thinking they would look fine.
but then i saw that gray cookies are not very appetizing.

in fact they are pretty groddy looking.

unless you are a sperm whale.
i hear they EAT sharks.
i used the end of a pie cutter handle for mine.
you can use whatever will fit.

no no no, not your shoe heel.
that might be a tad too big...

ok let's move on.
i had a small ghost cookie cutter that i used for the fins so that they would at least be the same size. then i cut the sides of them to form the fins as shown above.
you can also freehand them with a knife as i did for the dorsal fin and tail.

no need to be perfect, as people are gonna freak when they see the finished fish product anyway.

so, you'll need one tail (duh), one dorsal fin (duh) and 2 pectoral fins (those are the ones on the side), for each shark.

see, you learn something new everyday by watching the discovery channel...

i colored the candiquik with a tiny bit of black candy coloring.
that you will have to do if you want gray sharks.

or make them purple or orange or rainbow if you want.
:>P

allow the dome cookies, tail and fins to dry.

they dry fairly quickly if you freeze them and dip right away, like around 5 minutes.
Oooo!
he's coming together.

so you'll attach the dorsal fin to one of the cookies and the rest of the fins and tail to another cookie.

so 2 cookies=1 shark

originally i made 8 cookies for 4 sharks but 2 cookies broke cuz i didn't wait long enough to take them outta the pan.

so i ate 'em.
turned out ok since i was hungrier than a shark anyway.
:>P

now how about the face?
oops! i meant candiquik, not candiquick.

that darn shark scared the beejeezies outta me and i misspleed mispeled  mispelled oh forget it!

ok let's get this fish to breathe before he dies.
uh oh.
i think i know what happened to the poor leetle fishees...
but maybe the leetle fishees got away?

dun. dun.
dun. dun.
dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun.
dunney done!
oh i can't bear to look!!!
bad sharks!
bad. bad. bad!
just for that, i will cut you open.

hey and we didn't even need to get a bigger boat.

swim away leetle fishees you are now free to gooooooooo!

(this is what happened when my hubby and son watched the shark shows all week.
see how tv messes up my head?!)
