easter egg colored cakes

easter's coming like yesterday.
yikes! gotta get these posts out.
i wanted to tell you about this in case you wanted to make these this weekend or sometime soon before easter.

while making another easter treat i had some leftover cake mix that i made out of the box.

instead of throwing it out, or making more colored cake,
i experimented. and made these:

you can get the pan here. it was on clearance at target when i got it right after valentine's day.
anyway,i sprayed it with cooking spray and then
i put the colored cake mix in icing bags.
you can use ziploc bags too if you want,
with a tiny piece cut out of the corner.
my "icing" skills leave a lot be be desired :>P

and now the only thing left for me is to hide them from the kids til easter.

and the only thing left for you is to make this.
so go on!
hence forth and make some colored mini scalloped cakes! or cupcakes with yummy filling! or a big cake with your child's drawing on it! or a cake with your handwriting! or a cake with...

    1. wouldn't a cupcake look cute with polkadots? i figure it can be filled with some pudding or jam or whatever and then you wouldn't have to worry about the frosting :) thank you SO much Jeni! :)
