where the wild things are cake pops in a boat

knock! knock!
hmmm? wonder who that is?
i wasn't expecting anybody?...

...who is it?
THIS IS THE BLOGGER POLICE!
WE'VE COME TO ISSUE YOU A TICKET SO OPEN THE DOOR NOW!

WHAT? why the heck am i getting a ticket?
IT IS FOR BLOGGER SLACKINESS-A FELONY FOR THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO BE LAZY AND NOT KEEP UP WITH THE POSTS REQUIRED PER BLOGGER...SOMETHING OR RATHER...

ummmm...JUST A MINUTE!

quick! lemme give you a post!
this one is about the cake pops i made for a teacher friend of mine whose little just turned one.

they were fun but took a lot of time outta my regular crafts. so before i open the door (?!) may i present to you
where the wild things are cake pops in max's boat.
when my friend approached me she asked if i made cakes and i said no no no i will never make a cake cuz i have dreams,
err nightmares, of cakes toppling over during transport and then i would topple over in severe angst so
cake pops is what she got.

 so i compromised and made a boat instead, like so out of 5 foam blocks taped together and cut in the form of a boat, covered in red cardstock on which i drew sharpie details on and then covered with basket filler.
i actually covered the foam with cardstock first then added the filler- i just forgot to take pics of the steps and had to work backwards to do so! duh on me.

anyway, i also made a sail that's made outta more cardstock hot glued to a wooden dowel that i pushed into the boat.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
BANG! BANG! BANG!

ugh! i gotta speed this post up-i don't wanna ticket!
ok boat's ready!

now time to make some teeny tiny crowns out of gold cardstock.
and then cut some pink candy melts in small face shapes, using an icing tip.
ok let's get these cake pops going ok?

first up, MAX of course.
ok here's MAX with his crown, ready to meet the monsters.
monster number one--> BERNARD

monster number two---> MOISHE
(i had to google search these monster names btw!)

monster number three--->TZIPPY

monster number four---> EAGLE BIRD WITH NO OFFICIAL NAME (lol)

i bought some labels from etsy here.

and...there you have it.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
QUICK! EVERYONE IN THE BOAT!!!

ok scoot over already!
ok i'm in!
now let's get outta here before the
blogger police gives me a ticket!
and then let them figure out
where me and the wild things are...

  1. Wow those are amazing cake pop designs. I'm sure the kids loved them. Displaying them in the boat was so clever. What a great alternative to a cake.
