christmas in a jar, part 2: visions of sugarplums ice cream gingerbread man jar

i have a story for you.

t'was the night before christmas,
and all through the house,
not a blogger was stirring,
not even one post.

the pictures were loaded,
on the computer with care,
in hopes that some readers,
soon would be there.

the readers were nestled all snug in their bed,
while visions of sugarplums danced in their head.

what was that last line?

while visions of sugarplums danced in their heads.

hold on there a sec!
let's work with that.

cuz when i posted this, it said part 1.
so we gotta have part 2 right?

ok, here it is.
man, jar treats sure are popular.
so much so, they have taken over my brain and thus made me make this.

lemme show you how you can make one too ok?
i know. i know, these are not all the supplies needed.
i'm sorry.
when i make things, i just do it on a whim.
there are no plans, just an idea in my head so to put all the supplies together requires planning, something i obviously skip when my creations start to evolve.

but the thing with making this jar are the endless possibilities to decorate it any way you want, just using whatever you already have.

 let's move on.

the jar is the same one i used for part one.

ok so here we go.
put that aside to dry.
that's the same raffia i used in part one.
i found this on clearance at the container store awhile ago. but any ric rac ribbon will do.

here's a closeup.
i like that face.
now let's do this:

your jar's done.
let's fill it up.

so quick, grab all the sugar you can before someone sees you, and makes you feel really guilty for all the calories.

but if you are making this as a gift,
go get some more sugar!
i LOVE this haagen dazs ice cream. love it!
and i better considering it's totally expensive at almost 4 buckeroos for one measly pint. anyway, i chose it for this jar cuz of the brown color to make the gingerbread man but you can certainly use any caramel/chocolate ice cream you want.

put the ice cream in first, then the frosting via a decorator bag and lastly, all the color you can get in there.
little gingerbread cookies would really be ideal, something that i didn't have at the time and was about to go get some at the store, but laziness took over. but if you choose to put them in, make sure it's eaten soon so the cookies won't get soggy.

but anyway, i think it's sweet enough no?

all the dentists are patting me on the back now for sending them business.
here's hoping all your visions are sweet :)
