mini reese's cup easter baskets

hippety hoppity
easter's on its waaaaaay!!!

is it?
but it's only FEBRUARY!

no matter,
for i have learned in blogland,
holidays come at least one month earlier than the rest of the world.

so Halloween is in September,
Thanksgiving is in October,
and Christmas?
well, anything posted after the 20th just becomes eye candy.

so it's February and Easter it is!

let's start with my first easter treat.

let's gather our supplies from stores like jo-ann's, walmart and/or any grocery and get them ready first.
ok our candy supplies are ready!
next up is to grab some lollipop sticks and melt some chocolate almond bark or candy melts or whatever ya got and begin the process.
now grab some 3x4 inch treat bags.
then stick a skewer inside the bag and:
next grab some ribbon and add a tag like so:
tie your ribbon,
write an easter message on the tag,
aaaaand...
here's a closer look.

ok here's one 1 more:
so what do you think?
do you like them or did i blind you with all the colors?

  7. They're so adorable in that mini size! They're the perfect bite-sized treat for the kiddos on Easter. I'm pinning this to my Easter Sweets board for sure.

LIsa, I've been brainstorming an idea for a cake pop. I was hoping to be able to poke a whole all the way through a Reese's with a lollipop stick and then have it positioned in the middle of the stick (instead of the top). After playing with the Reese's on this project, any thoughs on whether or not I'll be able to do that?

    1. YAY! thank you Janine!
well, about the reese's in the middle of the stick thing-if it doesn't matter to you that the stick will be stained with pb and chocolate, you can carefully poke a hole all the way thru and slide it in position-then anchor the cup with melted chocolate so it won't slide down. If it does matter to you that the stick stay clean, cut the cup in half, position it on the stick, and carefully "glue" it back together with melted chocolate. i'm no expert that's for sure and haven't tried these methods but thinking they may work? (or not) hope that helps!!! :)

  19. Reading this on your 2013 year end wrap up - so have saved it for Easter 2014. GREAT TIP re how to attach the handle so it sticks. That would have been a deal breaker without your wonderful tip. I had a hard time finding edible grass last year (maybe Target?) but can use colored coconut if it's not available.

Who doesn't like Reeses cups and jelly beans? They're adorable.
