football fudge on a marshmallow field

pretty soon my son will have his first double digit birthday.
and i will be getting more gray hairs.

while at party city, we were trying to come up with a theme for his bday party. i tried to convince him to have an ugly doll party but before he could answer i already knew it was a no go.
"how's about an ugly doll football party then?" i asked.
dumb question.

i vow someday to have an ugly doll party someday in my lifetime! maybe i'll try an ugly doll easter party?
no go.
(hey! who said that?!)

anyway, short story long, we settled on an all sports theme. in the next coupla posts you'll be seeing some sports related things here and there.

which is kinda fortunate for me, as far as football goes, since the football theme seems to be in season at the moment.

here's my first treat i made.
wanna make some?

you'll need:
your favorite chocolate fudge
large marshmallows-you can use the stackers but i didn't have any
green and white candy melts
lollipop sticks

i almost went to the store to search for the stackers but was way lazy and i already had the usual marshmallows staring at me.
i almost made these into cake pops but was concerned about dipping the footballs in chocolate and ruining the grass.
i almost didn't post this cuz i saw some other bloggers make footballs on a field and didn't wanna look like a copy cat even though i already did it but whatev.

sometimes i make something, plan on posting it, and find someone already did a similar thing.
i guess great minds think alike?
whatev.
i think i'm in great company nonetheless.

anyway,  i did this:
HUT ONE
i cut the marshmallows in half after i smooshed them so they wouldn't be too thick.
HUT TWO
next melt some green candy melt and:
HUT THREE
now go for a long shot and make some chocolate fudge.

or fumble and buy some, like me.
now go for the first down!
(i have no idea if that makes sense, being the football illiterate that i am)
make sure you don't get a penalty!

WHOA! look out for that 300 pounder coming at cha!
ok keep going-going-going...

you.
can.
go.
all.
the.
way!
way to go man!
er, woman!

you just made a homerun, strike, goal,3 pointer shot,TOUCHDOWN!!!

i really must catch up on my football knowledge.

naw, i'd much rather hang out with the ugly dolls.
