thanksgiving turkey washi tape forks

i am still playing with the turkeys.
i wanted to make some kinda centerpiece for the dessert table we have every turkey day.

so i made this:
wanna make this silly guy?

you will need:

6 inch terra cotta pot
black acrylic paint or spray paint
yellow or gold ribbon
belt buckle
6 inch styrofoam ball
2 13/16th inch styrofoam egg
2 skewers
2 tall glasses
brown acrylic paint
foam brush to paint
2 google eyes
small square of orange cardstock
1 small red balloon
E-6000 glue
wooden forks (i got mine from party city)
various washi tape
jello pudding cup
thanksgiving sticker
pencil
large glass slightly bigger than your pudding cup
black cardstock

small chipboard (optional)
thanksgiving rub-on saying (optional)
ball tip wooden dowel (optional)

whew! that's a lotta stuff!
let's start with the terra cotta pot.
put that aside and allow to dry.

then grab an old belt.
cut the belt buckle out and glue to a piece of gold ribbon that fits around the bottom of the terra cotta pot you just painted after it is completely dry.
set the hat pot aside.
now let's make the turkey's body.
paint them with the brown acrylic paint.
while the turkey body is drying (I waited overnight), you can work on the forks.
place your forks aside for now.

so once the turkey body and head are dry, break off a part of the turkey head skewer and stick it in the body. remove and discard the body skewer you used for painting and drying.
then:
but the turkey's head looks so plain!

i wasn't sure what to do until i was packing my son's lunchable pudding and he said it looked like a hat. hey! that's my boy!

let's do this:

now try it on his head.
oh! he's so handsome!

this part is optional-the turkey's sign.

i found these rub-on transfers in the modge-podge section of michael's. the thanksgiving phrases were on the back.
and i used a piece of chipboard also from michael's that i had awhile back.

HOORAY!
he's finally all done.
better watch him so he doesn't escape.
you know those turkeys are always trying to run away this time of year...

OH NO!
he's out in the backyard!
no worries, i got this!
so now i'll stick him on my thanksgiving pie table.
right next to my fancy candle.

then i'll tell everybody to
and then everyone will have their very own thanksgiving turkey feather fork
to enjoy that favorite slice (or sliceS) of pie!

hope you make this-it can be used over and over again for every thanksgiving.
but uh, just change the forks.

ok so now you can stick a fork in me cuz i'm done now.
