valentine candy cupcake toppers

i don't really like this candy.
it doesn't taste like anything except chalk to me and i tried writing with it since chalkboard crafts are so popular now,
but uh, that didn't work out too well...

it kinda falls in the candy corn category of holiday sweets where a crafter buys gross candy just to make something out of it.

c'mon crafty peeps,
you know what i'm talking about!

anyway, here is my contribution to the crafty blogging world of making gross candy into cute treats.
so along with a 99 cent box of cheap conversation (chalk) hearts, i got some red candy melts, sprinkles, toothpicks, wax paper, and wooden picks and made these.

first i plopped a small dime to a nickel size blob of red candy melt on wax paper.

then,

and look-here it is again:
i only made 4 for my family.
so my kids get the "crazy fun" on their cupcakes,
i get the "party girl" topper,
and my hubby gets the "friend 4 Eva".
that is, after he gives me my Valentine chocolates.
teehee!
j/k

and yes, those are fake ceramic cupcakes i have in the background.
i have yet to actually buy the cupcakes which i will do on my way home from work on the 14th, so that i can actually use these and not have the cupcakes sitting around til Thursday.

cuz y'know, they may get dry and taste like chalk...
