i feel sorry for any plant that comes under my possession.
the poor thing does not have a chance.
the only way i can get a green thumb is to soak my thumb in green food dye or paint it in permanent ink but we know even that won't last.
one time i was so tired of killing all my plants and flowers that i ever bought so i just resorted to getting silk plants.
yes i know they are not cheap but i got one and boy it did sure liven up my mantle.
until one day i decided to actually be domestic so i got my endust and started to spray the dust bunnies away.
that day i actually moved things out of the way to dust underneath instead of around them.
one of the things i moved was my huge silk fern i got.
but oopsies!
i instead knocked it over, thus making it crash to the ground and a bunch of its leaves fell out. i tried my hardest to put it all together but it was useless. it looked very sickly with its fern leaves all in a
hodge-podge-hurricane-attacked-looking-manner.
hodge-podge-hurricane-attacked-looking-manner.
i killed a silk plant.
my black thumb won again.
but wait!
i was bound and determined that i have some kinda plant or flower in my house.
so i made these:
yes, these are my kinda flowers.
made of candy, and growing quite well,
thank you very much.
thank you very much.
and they are sitting on top of a peanut butter filled brownie flower box.
yippee!
let's make some together ok?
you can get the pan here.
set that aside for now.
yippee! you are done.
so all you gotta do now is,
wouldn't these be great for a mother's day treat?
oh no!
looks like it's back to the drawing board to keep my flowers alive.
well, at least they were great while they lasted...
This is such a cute idea and love that you used peanut butter...YUM!!!
ReplyDeleteyay! thank you SO much Jill! this food crafting sure is fun and i get to look at pretty flowers too! heehee
Deletethe peanut butter filling really make these brownies extra yummy! :)
Thee are adorable. What a really fun idea!! It is so clever. I do cakes, and I love that I might be able to use Starbucks for decorations sometime. Thank you so much for a really great idea.
ReplyDeleteany kinda chewy candy would work-taffy, tootsie rolls, licorice, gumdrops, etc etc. (not sure about starbuck's though) heehee can you tell i have experience with lotsa candy? it's a tough job but someone's gotta do it! thanks for stopping by Jodi! :)
DeleteSo cute! So clever! So colorful! I share your sisterhood of felony plant murder. Plants not only refuse to grow for me but they tell their friends to run and hide too. They are not being mean - just trying to spare others a slow death. And silk plants are included in this drama as well! Ooops! Just looked sideways at a PICTURE of a rose - it'll be dead tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! your comments kill me J! oh goodness did you look at me sideways? just kidding!
Deletesee ya at the police line tomorrow for the plant/flower murder crime. let's make sure we stand next to each other cuz i'll bring some of these brownies to help us get through it! heehee :>D
Very, very clever and they look adorable! I can grow most anything but I suck at making beautiful desserts like this. You have my utmost admiration.
ReplyDeleteand YOU Sande have my utmost admiration for being able to grow most anything! whaddya say we make an even trade, brownies for real pretty flowers? heehee thank you so much for stopping by! :)

you're funny Robin! actually when we ate them we took the flowers & leaves out first cuz starburst and chocolate are not a good eating combo. so when the brownie was gone, then we ate the flowers. so it was 2 treats in one! :)

DeleteThese are such a fun dessert! I love the fun silicone baking pan, I might have to go find one :) I have used airheads on a cake before but I love the idea of making little flowers from them! Super cute and such a fun bright treat for spring. Thank you so much for linking up this amazing dessert @ A Handful of Everything. :) Krista
ReplyDeletehelp! i am obsessed with shaped pans Krista! and especially silicone ones cuz it is so easy to get the treat out without breaking them apart. and the airheads are like playdough-you can make whatever you want out of them which makes it wonderful for decorating like you did on your cake :) thank YOU so much for stopping by and for your party again! :)
