candy-filled corn favors

ok we are in full thanksgiving mode around these brain parts.
i say that cuz everywhere i look i see turkeys.

but thanksgiving is more than turkeys,
as we all know,
like corn, and mash potatoes, and pies
for instance.

so speaking of other foods,
today i am going to concentrate on corn.
well, kinda sorta,
as you can see from this:
it's a little sweet treat for the kids who aren't into pies or who are into pies but bringing home a slice of pie after turkey dinner isn't as exciting than bringing these candy corn, errr, candy-filled corn favors home.

here's the how-to:

i got them at marshall's and looked perfect to fit in the tubes.

ok i must tell you,
i already had these leaves.
i was looking around for my crepe paper and came across this flower kit from target i had for awhile.
when i couldn't find my crepe paper anywhere, i just used these which actually worked for the best.
see, it pays to be unorganized sometimes...

anyway, you can also use tissue paper, card stock or whatever kind of paper for the leaves though.

now go to google and start searching.
i went to get the source for this pic but darn it all i cannot find it again!
no worries, any corn image will do and there are a ton out there.
just be sure it's a free image to use though.

next step:

so congrats ms. farmer,
you just grew some corn without the help of water or sun.
now all you gotta do is make a million more to get this.
woah!
think i'll stick to the 2 i have,
one for each kid, unless of course you have a corn field of a family :)
