have you guys ever seen these?
i remember making this when i was little, waaaaay back in the caveman days.
sigh.
anywho,
they were my inspiration for this next treat.
only i couldn't figure out how to do the antlers without making it so complicated so i resorted to making this guy instead:
i think you are all familiar with him right?
let's make skinny santa!
:)
you'll need candy canes of course, along with red candy melt and toothpicks.
also,
step one.
yeah, i tried it this way.
and it was a pain!
only cuz it was an extra step.
but i had to show this to you to give you another option cuz pushing the marshmallows through the candy cane is the hardest part of making this guy. sometimes, if you aren't gentle, the marshmallow will break.
so go real eeeeeeaaaaaasy ok?
but as you will see after the finished project, you get the same results.
ok so where were we?
oh yeah.
step two.
lay the cane down on a piece of wax paper.
step three.
step four.
oops! make that a red ball sprinkle, not a sixlet.
anyway,step five.
step six.
ta da you are done!
can i see the finished santa again?
oh you look so darn fluffy even if you're skinny.
is that possible?
but wait, did you say something?
well, ok.
i guess that's what all bloggers must do.
go pose over there by that pretty paper.
NO NO NO!
you look too stiff and lonely.
go take a break and relax for a sec while i figure out some lighting.
let's get some of your buddies and do a group shot.
NO NO NO!
why can't you guys stand still?
quit yer ho ho ho-in' and foolin' around!
now just stand still a sec for this next pic.
NO NO NO!
eyes people, eyes!
i need to have contact with your eyes so our readers can "feel" your cuteness!
Ooooo!
this just may work.
i shoulda known you santas would be best by the christmas tree.
duh on me!
ok santas.
it's a wrap!
so maybe can you santas get together and discuss my christmas wish list for a better camera?
thank you so much.
OMG these are ssssooooo cute....and not too difficult! I think I just may be making some this holiday season! Thanks for sharing on the homemade holiday party.

oh that's wonderful Julie! peppermint candy canes would be ideal-we used the sweet tart rainbow ones which wouldn't be that great for hot chocolate! LOL but my son picked the rainbow ones cuz he likes the taste better so i went with it :)
