there are soooo many goodies in jars these days.
apple pie.
pudding.
rainbows.
fruit desserts.
cakes, pies, puddings, mixes, etc. of every flavor and color you can imagine.
i could go on and on!
so hey,
wanna another idea for a jar treat?
how about a MONSTER?!?!
i used 3 of these jars that i bought at walmart, not amazon (it's too much S&H!)and started the fun.
come join me!
in this tute there are tons of pics but these are actually quick to put together. i just like tons of pics rather than tons of words for a tute :)
let's make this real easy.
buy some ready made brownies and:
you with me so far?
let's make a monster!
(pretend the melted candy is like playdough and just move it around the folded wax paper. then when you are satisfied, open up the paper & fix it with a toothpick, cleaning up the sides with a spatula)
you'll wanna cut the bottom of your monster, not the arms, with a knife.
now comes the cool part...
do this with more candy melt & try to match the hands with the arms! "paint" these hands BELOW the rim of the jar, so as not to interfere with the lid.
one more thing to do.
now put this aside for now and grab jar #2.
put your brownie & cream cheese the same way you did for jar #1.
but instead of an oreo layer, color some frosting green or use melted candy melt again and:
got the grass done? doesn't have to be the whole next layer, just here and there like in the pic above.
so now we add the fun, although this jar doesn't really have a monster.
take these dollar tree lollipops.
and add the pumpkins, making sure they are facing the outside of the jar.
we'll get to spoon details in a bit...
put jar #2 aside.
you can use marshmallow pumpkin peeps instead of the pumpkin lollipops-i just couldn't find any at the time i was making these.
so,
grab jar #3 now.
our last and final jar.
make the brownie and cream cheese layer again. this time we'll use different cookies. and scary sprinkles and green starburst hands. don't forget to cut the lollipop stick so his head fits in.
now let's jazz these jars up.
spoons with washi tape, washi tape lids, twine and
tags made at this killer site.
(sorry i would make some for you but they keep printing out blurry when i post them-UGH!-anyone know why?)
wanna look at the final jars now?
ok :)
the hands make it look like he's coming outta the jar!
is it the great pumpkin, charlie brown?
and finally, is that frankenstein's monster i see peering out?
looks like there's one more jar left in the 4 pack.
you can have your base as anything you want, doesn't have to be brownie and cream cheese and cookies...
you can have your base as anything you want, doesn't have to be brownie and cream cheese and cookies...
what kinda monster are ya gonna put in that one?
ghosts? skeletons? zombies?
i just love halloween.
